Sunala Show Off Thermal Ink Jet Printer Ideal For Ready Meals
A new entry-level version of the market-leading Wolke m600 thermal ink jet printer, ideal for food applications such as ready meals, cakes and biscuits and cereals, will be shown in the UK for the first time by Sunala Ltd at this year’s PPMA Show.

The m600 is already well proven in a wide variety of food markets. The new Basic model has been designed for users who require fast, quality coding without some of the more sophisticated features of the m600 Advanced printer. It can drive up to two print heads with printing speeds of up to 300m per minute with a maximum resolution of 600dpi.

The new printer’s compact but robust design enables it to fit easily into any production line environment. It features an easy-to-use keyboard, with keypad functions based on a standard mobile phone, and a 5.7” full colour display. The machine’s IP-65 construction provides protection in dusty and wet environments.

The printer memory includes several standard labelling and coding formats, which can be tailored to user requirements. In addition, the machine features Label Design Software as standard, allowing the creation of bespoke designs.

A key additional benefit of the m600 Advanced is its ability to print variable Datamatrix codes to ECC 200. These are increasingly being adopted by companies thanks to their greater flexibility and accuracy and their ability to include a huge amount of information in a concise format. This makes the m600 Advanced an ideal choice for track and traceability requirements, particularly for example products that are exported worldwide.

Both models feature the pioneering unique HP cartridge system which contains both the environmentally-friendly water-based ink and the print head, to ensure a maintenance and trouble-free operation. This also ensures a consistently high quality and easily readable code.

Equally important, using cartridges prevents ink spillages both during operation and changeovers to maintain a clean working environment.

The Sunala stand will also feature the Travtec TR-750 Speed-Feeder for the high speed off-line feeding of flat cartons, paper sheets and blister cards for coding by inkjet, laser, labeller or print and apply labeller.

The machine can be supplied as a stand-alone system or tailored to customer requirements for integration with existing equipment. It can handle cartons up to 400mm long, 250mm wide and 5mm thick, with throughput speeds up to 250 products per minute, depending on the pack size. Product changeovers can be completed in less than five minutes.
