Advanced Dynamics Put Productivity Boosting Labelling Solutions On Show
To help production managers explore the cost-effective alternatives to manually decorating products, Advanced Dynamics will be showcasing the impressive range of innovative and versatile automated labelling, sleeving and feeding equipment it has to offer at the PPMA Show in Birmingham, from 30 September to 2 October.

Some SMEs are reluctant to convert to automatic systems because of the perception that switching would take a significant chunk out of the capital budget. To compensate they still use manual resources for this repetitive and time consuming process, which is prone to human error and draws staff away from more productive tasks.

At PPMA Advanced Dynamics will be exhibiting Pack Leader’s exceptional labelling equipment, which can be stand alone or integrated into a line for a variety of container sizes, cartons and bottle shapes, suitable for a wide variety of sectors including food.

Sole UK distributor of Pack Leader’s fully-automated labelling systems, Advanced Dynamics will be promoting the entry level ELF-50 and ELF-20 desk-top top labellers for smaller production runs. Also sharing centre stage will be the flexible PL-221 top and base label application system, complete with thermal transfer loader, and the PRO-625 front and back labelling machine.

This high-quality labelling equipment has already taken the speciality food sector in the UK by storm, with manufacturers such as Divine Deli and Orchard Valley purchasing the compact ELF-50 table top labeller, while contract cosmetics manufacturer Nicholas James (UK) Ltd became one of the first companies in the country to install the PRO-625.

In addition Advanced Dynamics will also be demonstrating the latest sleeving technology - Pack Leader’s SL301 Shrink Sleeving system. This flexible, high speed equipment is designed for efficiency and accuracy, whether intended for a cap or bottle, and is suitable for items like pharmaceuticals, food, medicines and beverages.

To complete the Advanced Dynamics line-up at PPMA will be the new feeders from Köra-Packmat featuring the redesigned entry level EasyFeeder and the AdvancedFeeder with new servo driven buffer rake for batch counting products.

The EasyFeeder has a new control system for even easier set up and use as well as a new internal drive system. The Servo buffer rake for the AdvancedFeeder allows high speed operation, yet is extremely quiet and produces far less vibration than the traditional pneumatic system. Additionally it is extremely easy to set up and use for different sizes of product.

Advanced Dynamics’ managing director, Malcolm Little, said “The PPMA exhibition is the perfect platform for us to demonstrate high quality, automatic labelling systems which can improve efficiency and transform a production line. Label applicators can mitigate the risks of adhesive issues, wrinkling, skewing and frayed edges - faults which delay production, cost money and lead to waste.”

Manufacturers are becoming increasingly aware of the economic and production benefits that affordable and high quality, automatic labelling equipment can bring to their operations. At PPMA visitors will be able to see for themselves why Advanced Dynamics believes its range of labelling systems offer the most cost-effective solutions for boosting profits.

The Smarter Choice For Fresh Products Labelling Solutions
For labelling of packed fresh products such as meat, sausage, cheese, noodles, vegetables or fruit TSC Auto ID offers efficient labelling solutions of all size classes that is also advantageous for small and medium-sized companies.

Easy-to-operate industrial printers are ideal for busy client server networks handling heavy-duty print jobs or large files. Thanks to its intelligent firmware and powerful features TSC´s thermal transfer printer series TTP-2410M Pro, ME240 and MX240 can be integrated into each current network-architecture without a problem and used in stand-alone mode. The reliable printers are at fully operational at all times and work even in case of temporary network failures using variable data from ERP or weighting system. In a stable plastic housing the printers withstand temperatures ranges of 0° C to -30° C.

TSC´s partners such as Dalektron prefer such reliable models for their fully or semi automatic marking and labelling solutions which shall be powerful and above all, affordable.

With RHE 500 there is a smart and professional labelling system available to print and apply self-adhesive labels on cylindrical vessels such as bottles, glasses or tins. A precisely defined rotation ensures exact labelling and the perfect label alignment. Another practicable solution, LCA-3500 with its integrated vacuum stamp, was developed especially to label sensitive fresh products wrapped in foil or vacuum-treated.

To realize highly flexibility and mobility the lightweight portable printers Alpha-3R and Alpha-4L are a smarter choice. As required they generate and print barcodes and information where they are needed, in exactly the amount needed. So they will enhance accuracy and improve productivity, reduce error rates and guarantee transparency and safety in the identification process across the entire supply chain. And companies are in a comfortable position to fulfil the new legal requirements of European Food Information Regulation that comes into effect on December 2014.

Allen Coding Show Wide Range Of Marking & Coding Systems At PPMA
Allen Coding will be showing a wide range of high performance marking and coding systems at this year's PPMA show at the Birmingham NEC starting 30 September.

The automatic ARF-1 feeder is capable of handling cartons or sleeves up to a maximum of 375mm x 400mm and will be featured on stand with the popular Hitachi RX-S continuous ink jet coder. Other equipment on display is set to include the ICON laser coder and NGT2+ thermal transfer printer.

Allen’s XL-Series does not compromise on print or system quality despite being up to 40% less expensive than other thermal transfer systems. As well as a two component, space saving design, the XL-Series offers several exciting new features, including the iView colour touch screen with simple-to-use graphical user interface and the multi-tasking a:touch module for convenient multi-printer operation, Ethernet and USB connectivity, and duel processors (one for communication and one for printing) to ensure high speed performance.

The XL-Series was specially designed to provide seamless Unicode performance for high speed printing of variable information in a wide variety of languages. In addition, a simple design and robust construction helps meet the requirements of most industrial coding applications. Different control unit options allow us to match global customers’ needs, whether they prefer to specify a user friendly handset, or control the printer from the comfort of the office via a PC.

The iView touch screen can be configured in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Swedish, Russian, Korean and Arabic. Additional user-interface languages are regularly added and specific languages can be included on request.

Featuring a highly robust, industrial design and up to 600 metres ribbon capacity for extended use with minimal downtime, Allen’s XL-Series provides reliable and accurate printing of barcodes, sell-by dates, batch numbers, prices, source codes and other text and graphics, including Julian date and 2D Datamatrix codes, at speeds up to 450 prints per minute at 5mm print height.

There are four models in the range: the 53XL80U features a maximum print area of 53mm x 80mm and comes with an unprecedented two-year warranty; the 53XL40 features a print area of 53mm x 40mm; the 53XLC is a continuous version with print area of 53mm x 80mm, whilst the 25XLi uses miniature ribbon for precise printing in small areas.

Allen Coding’s ARF-1 feeder is ideal for handling cartons or sleeves and offers simple set up and operation.

Robust and reliable, the unit is built on castors for easy transportation to different areas of the production environment and has an in-feed option of either nip roller or pusher plate. It is compatible with all of Allen Coding’s thermal transfer, laser and continuous ink jet printers and runs at a variable print speed up to 60metres per minute. A special pharmaceutical version of the ARF-1 incorporates shingling conveyor, reject station and character recognition as standard. The ARF-2 is a bench mounted model.

The RX-S continuous ink jet printer is specially designed for accurate reproduction of a wide range of fonts in multiple languages, as well as bar codes and 2D DataMatrix codes, logos and graphics directly onto uneven or flexible substrates including glass, plastics, metal and rubber. Developed for today’s exceptionally fast and challenging production environments, the RX-S provides high speed printing, as well as superior print head technology for stable drop placement and print quality.

Developed as an ideal first introduction to laser technology, the ICON laser system is easy to use, fast and priced competitively with ink jet printers. Specially designed for small character coding, ICON features an integrated colour touch screen and intuitive interface with context sensitive menus for ease of navigation. ICON uses high performance optics, powerful hardware and advanced, low overhead software to enable its core laser to meet the high speeds of most production lines. Meanwhile, its compact design means it can be installed in locations where space is limited.

The high speed NGT2+ is the latest addition to Allen Coding’s range of NGT thermal transfer coders. Aimed at top end pharmaceutical and food applications, the system’s control unit is built into the print head for significant space saving benefits and centralised operation. It can be easily integrated into other packaging and labelling equipment and has a USB interface for back up and formatting.
