API Further Strengthens Its Focus On Growth With New Appointment
Brand enhancement specialist API has further strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of packaging and security industry professional, Richard Burhouse.
Burhouse takes on the new role of Commercial Director, based at its API Laminates site in Poynton. In his new position, he will be responsible for facilitating and deploying API’s brand enhancement commercial focus and supporting its newly formed Creative Development group in providing brand owners, printer converters and designers with new ideas in how to enhance their packaging.
“After meeting all the team at API I recognised that the company vision and commitment to develop the market opportunities for its brand enhancement products were exactly the next challenge that I was looking for in my career,” says Burhouse. “Joining API offers an exciting opportunity for me to use my industry and business development experience to help ensure the business grows further and I’m looking forward to ensuring API delivers for its customers and other stakeholders.”
Previously Burhouse has worked at De La Rue and Essentra in a variety of marketing and business development roles. With 20 years’ experience across the packaging and security sectors he has helped to build the commercial strategy and new product development process as part of his roles as well as leading the marketing communications activity.
“We are thrilled to welcome Richard to our team,” comments API’s Chief Commercial Officer, Will Oldham. “His commercial experience will be invaluable as we develop API to grow and deliver our innovative brand enhancement and security solutions for our customers packaging requirements.”
Due to a burgeoning order book and increasing interest from a variety of industry sectors for its quality labelling equipment, Advanced Dynamics has boosted its sales force with the appointment of Tom Smith.
Tom took up the post of Sales Manager in early November and has already closed a number of orders for Advanced Dynamics, a leading supplier in the packaging industry which recently celebrated a decade in business.
The company is the UK distributor for renowned global labelling machine manufacturers such as Pack Leader, Köra-Packmat and Eurokett, as well as supplying cutting edge sheet counters made by B.Matic, a range of equipment, coupled with its reputation for after sales service that is second to none, which attracted Tom to the role.
He said: “I have known Advanced Dynamics for many years and when this opportunity arose, I knew, with the ethos of the business, the positive attitude of the guys and the future plans of the company along with the obvious merit of proving a Lancashire lad can shine amongst a Yorkshire crowd, that this was the role for me. It’s a new challenge and one that I can’t wait to get my teeth into; my aim is to increase sales and help the company to continue to prosper.”
Investing in its workforce is part Advanced Dynamics’ strategy for expanding its equipment portfolio of specialist wrapping, labelling and feeding solutions in industries such as food, drinks, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, toiletries, printing and other related sectors.
Managing Director, Malcolm Little, says: “Tom brings with him great character, drive, invaluable industry experience and his appointment is a further commitment to the company’s mission to break into new markets, providing customers with the best expertise to go along with a range of cost-effective automated solutions to improve their production efficiency, quality and costs. I also look forward to the challenge seeing just how the Red Rose fairs in the White Rose arena.”
He added: “I’m sure Tom will enjoy a long and successful career at Advanced Dynamics. As the company grows we need high calibre staff to match our high quality equipment and Tom fits the bill perfectly. He will drive sales, enabling me to ensure that the company is achieving its goals and objectives in all sectors.”
Advanced Dynamics’ growth strategy has seen its workforce steadily increase over the years and the business now employs 11 people at its facility in Staithgate Lane, which has also been expanded to include a mezzanine and a permanent 800 square foot exhibition site for showcasing the impressive line-up of the company’s extensive specialised equipment.
In addition to offering labelling systems for applying labels efficiently and accurately every time – freeing staff for more productive tasks – Advanced Dynamics has recently launched new affordable technology for the de-stacking of pots and tubs for filling of soups, stews and sauces.
Advanced Dynamics can also supply shrink sleeve solutions which can be customised for almost any container, providing advantages such as increased space for brand identity and on-shelf impact, as well as practical functions like protective security seals and tamper proof packaging.
