Linx Printing Technologies has announced two new appointments, reinforcing its commitment to a customer-led product portfolio.
Steve Cheek joins as Director of Product Planning, while Matt Eastham becomes Product Manager for Laser.
Both will be based at Linx’s headquarters in St Ives, Cambs, but with a strong remit to visit customers and distributor partners.
Steve has a vast amount of experience within the Danaher group, joining Linx following 11 years as General Manager of the Fluke China R&D and Planning teams. Additionally, he has held the role of General Manager for the Danaher Development Centre in Shanghai since 2006.
He says: “This is an exciting opportunity to build on Linx’s trusted portfolio of products. Future product directions will reflect both the Voice of Customer and, crucially, the innovative ideas already here at Linx.
Matt brings a wealth of experience in product management, business development and sales with a proven track record of growth in new product categories.
He comments: “Linx SL coders are reliable in even the most demanding factory environments, and service intervals are typically twice those of the industry standard.
“They don’t need expensive factory air for cooling, unlike some other laser coders, which helps to further reduce your coding costs.”
Steve has moved to Cambridgeshire with his wife and two daughters. Matt lives in Northamptonshire and lists his interests as golf, running and other outdoor pursuits.

“I am delighted to welcome Ian to RPC Bebo UK,” comments general manager David Lowe.
“His experience across so many sectors will be invaluable as we seek to further grow our business, while forging closer links between our vending and packaging operations will enable us to offer a comprehensive one-stop service to our customers.” * * * Keep in touch with the real world of the UK convenience food sector with the ReadyMealsinfo weekly news wrap http://readymealsinfo.com/newsletter.php
FDF Looks For New Director General As Melanie Leech Steps Down
FDF has announced that its Director General, Melanie Leech, will be leaving in the New Year after more than nine years to head up the British Property Federation.
Melanie, who has held the post of Director General since August 2005, said: "I have been privileged to lead FDF for the last nine years and am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in that time. With the support of five great Presidents and many individuals from member companies, plus a dedicated, expert and hard-working executive team we have made a real difference for food and drink manufacturing and driven the agenda through initiatives such as our Five-fold Environmental Ambition, our 2020 Growth Vision and our Ingredients for Success. The time is now right for me to move on to a new challenge and I am excited about the opportunity to represent another major economic powerhouse sector for the UK economy."
Richard Evans, FDF President, said: "Melanie has made a significant contribution to furthering the industry’s interests during her time at FDF. She has been responsible for a number of key campaigns and worked tirelessly to make sure members are well represented in the key debates affecting our sector. She is highly regarded both by members and our stakeholders and has been a huge support to me and my predecessors in the role of President. We wish her well for her new role."
FDF has now commenced the search for a new Director General.
